How does Transcendental Meditation differ from other mantra based meditations?
TM promises to allow practitioners to quickly reach a deeper level of consciousness beyond the thinking mind. This technique is said to be effortless and can be practiced for 20 minutes twice per day sitting comfortably with the eyes closed.
There are a few key ways in which Transcendental Meditation (TM) differs from other mantra-based meditations. Firstly, TM is learned from a qualified teacher in a one-on-one setting, whereas other mantra-based meditations can often be learned from books or online courses.
